Bliss Media is a partnership that combines the creative energies of Jeremy Fergus and Jessica Fergus.
Jeremy Fergus is a seasoned enterprise technologist, having spent 10 years working in the field in a variety of IT contexts and roles.
Jeremy’s earliest forays into the world of technology took place in academia, where he learned first to think about the human, social, economic, and historical side of the technology equation. Somewhat counter-intuitively, he then moved on to corporate IT, where he learned the craft of this often arcane world with early positions in systems administration and operational support. Those first jobs in turn led to more advanced infrastructure engineering and management engagements, and to a variety of increasingly complex technology projects in the defense sector that took him from the U.S. to international work and back again. Jeremy has created an outstanding portfolio work of art through the lens of a camera during his travels at home and abroad.
Jeremy co-founded Bliss Media in 2005 in order to continue his engagement with technology in new ways: by leading an independent consultancy that operates at the intersection of artistic and intellectual creativity and the technology frameworks that enable their expression. Bliss Media thus seeks to make these enabling tools accessible to people and institutions that often cannot afford the budgetary luxuries of larger enterprises: small-to-mid-sized companies, non-profit organizations, and individuals from all walks who look to technology to help solve their particular business, organizational, or personal challenges.
Jessica Fergus is a project manager, photographer, product developer, social media maven, mobile device enthusiast, Macintosh convert, and a specialist in the use of agile methodologies in business project development.
From her earliest days, Jessica showed a distinct affinity for the modes and methods of creative expression. Her utterly unintended and unexpected journey into the world of technology began shortly after college, when she found herself working for the Information Database department of a large, corporation. There she was introduced to the myriad wonders of working in an environment where business applications were served up by mainframe computers. It was in that context that she developed a penchant for working with technology at a more human scale, and for leveraging platforms of a more flexible, open, and end-user inspired sort.
Jessica’s technology journey continued with her work as the Project Manager for an advertising firm creating a communication bridge between the client, a start-up website company, and the creative services. There Jessica was responsible for designing and implementing a project management process that would optimize work effort and produce top quality results. The program she designed, developed, and managed was honored with excellent reviews by the client and they asked her to permanently work for their company. It became a model of technologically-focused methodologies that allowed for development of innovative products that were able to be quickly launched to market, and even now, several years later, the company maintains several of the products and processes that Jessica was instrumental in establishing.
Jessica focuses her energies on the development, presentation, and management of online creative content and IT projects. Her role at Bliss Media involves bringing her expertise to bear on the many challenges faced by non-technical enterprises and individuals, entrepreneurs, and creative contributors in particular, as they seek to develop credible and authentic web presence strategies.
